The Climate Finance Research Center is a specialized research division under the International Institute of Green Finance at the Central University of Finance and Economics. Its main research areas cover international climate finance progress, carbon markets, climate investment and financing, adaptation investment and financing, green fiscal policy, and climate risk management in the financial sector. The Center has long provided decision-making support to central government bodies including the Ministry of Ecology and Environment, the Ministry of Finance, and the People’s Bank of China, and has deeply participated in or supported the drafting of multiple national policy documents on green finance and climate investment and financing. It maintains close cooperation with UN agencies, multilateral development finance institutions, and various international organizations, and regularly tracks frontier developments in international climate finance and policy, participating annually in major international conferences such as the UN Climate Change Conferences. At the local level, the Center provides policy-making and advisory service support to multiple provinces and municipalities, including Beijing, Shandong, Hubei, Hainan, and Sichuan, in the fields of green finance and climate investment and financing. The Center is also one of the first local teams in China to undertake green bond evaluation and certification, having provided pre-issuance assessment and certification for approximately 50 green bonds with a total scale exceeding RMB 150 billion. It has also published its flagship China Climate Finance Report for fifteen consecutive years, alongside a steady output of research reports, core journal articles, and media opinion pieces, accumulating extensive influence in green finance and climate investment and financing.
