The meeting will take place on Sunday, September 24, 2023, from 9:00 am to 5:40 pm (Beijing).
2023 marks the commencement of fully implementing the spirit of the 20th Party Congress. The report from the 20th Party Congress emphasizes the need to ‘actively and steadily promote carbon peaking and carbon neutrality.’ China is committed to interpreting the profound significance of establishing a community of human destiny through green finance. It is steadily advancing toward the ‘dual-carbon’ goal, actively participating in global governance to address climate change, and insisting on the harmonious coexistence of humans and nature. China aims to contribute to the promotion of ecological civilization nationwide and the achievement of sustainable development goals on a global scale.
The International Research Institute of Green Finance, established in 2016 at the Central University of Finance and Economics (CUFE), is the first open and internationalized research institute in China dedicated to advancing the development of green finance. Over the course of seven years, the institute’s team has expanded to include researchers in Beijing, Hangzhou, and Guangzhou, and its research areas encompass green finance, climate finance, energy finance, ESG (Environmental, Social, and Governance) factors, healthcare finance, art finance, and more. The institute remains committed to being practical and effective in the realms of academic research, translating research outcomes into practical solutions, fostering collaboration and knowledge exchange, and enhancing communication efforts. It continues to drive innovation in academic research, the transformation of achievements, collaboration and communication, and the dissemination of its brand.
The year 2023 marks the 7th Anniversary of the International Institute of Green Finance (IIGF). The IIGF 2023 Annual Meeting will hold a welcoming ceremony and announce IIGF’s recent research findings on green trades, local green finance developments, ESG products, transition finance in iron and steel industry, global green finance developments, research on the development prospects of green budgeting in China, art finance, etc. The IIGF 2023 Annual Meeting will also hold four thematic panels, bringing together decision-makers and stakeholders from government, financial institutions, and academia in China and abroad to exchange experiences and knowledge on the topic of carbon market expansion, ESG integration in the SDGs, transition finance in “Dual Carbon” Goals, and the female power in green finance development.
The meeting will be held as a mixed online and offline event with English/Chinese simultaneous interpretation.
